Hi all, I'm new to this forum and new to the piano too. I'm currently looking for a piano for myself (which will be my first one), I wonder if anyone would kindly give some advice?I went to the shop yesterday and I'm tossing between a Yamaha LU110 $2950 and an Alex Steinbach Romance 121 $4395.
They're both second hand and both made in Indonesia.Steinbach is 2003 model and the actions look pretty new. The Yamaha is definately older but from the serial number we couldn't tell what year it's from (probably 20 years old or more). Looks a little dusty inside too. I like the look of the Steinbach (Mohogany classic) but I guess this shouldn't be in the way of proper judgement. There's a dent on the Yamaha case which is slighly uncomfortable.As for touch the Steinbach is a little harder and the sound a little brighter. And given it's a 121cm the Steinbach would be more 'powerful' than the LU110?
I'm hoping to keep the piano for a few years without the need for upgrading or spending big $$$ on fixing problems.As for room acoustics, the room it'll be in has hard wood floor and blinds. No curtains or rugs. Two leather sofas will sit around the piano. If this helps with decision too?Which one would be better?
