Dragon Age Origins Camera Mod
Dragon Age Inquisition is without a doubt one of the best games of 2014, which is saying a lot considering just how many great releases we’ve had this year. Reviews have been very positive thus far and with good reason as there is very little to complain about when it comes to this game. Sure, you might come across the odd bug from time to time, but that’s a small price to pay when you take into consideration the fact that this is a truly massive game that can take you several tens of hours to complete.
Overall, Dragon Age Inquisition was released in a very good state, although a couple of improvements could still be made if you ask me.The PC version in particular could use a bit more work as the controls are not always the best and it’s pretty obvious at times that Bioware was heavily focusing on the console versions during development. But while that’s only a minor nuisance, there’s something even more important that needs to be addressed: the Isometric Camera. This was one of the features that made Dragon Age: Origins so good and Bioware promised that it would return in Dragon Age Inquisition.
Dragon Age: Origins is a great game, but it is a product of its time. BioWare released Dragon Age in 2009 while still working on Mass Effect 2, so Dragon Age repeats many of the same design.
The company sort of kept their promise and implemented a tactic view, but it’s not even close to what they offered in Origins mainly due to the fact that you can’t pull it back far enough to actually make it useful. Well, now there’s a solution for that.A PC gamer managed to create a mod for Dragon Age Inquisition that brings back the real Isometric Camera just as we know it from the first installment. Technically speaking, this is more of a cheat than a mod as it was created using CheatEngine. However, it does work as intended and provides a more in-depth view of the battlefield, which can be very useful needless to say.
If you’re interested in giving it a try, you can find the CheatEngine and the instructions. Dragon Age Origins Camera Mod 1
Aug 29, 2017 - I'm starting my blog by publishing a mod that fixes the controls and camera of the game Dragon Age Origins. It should work with all versions. Baldurs Gate 2 Redux. For a taste of something a little different—and a break from Dragon Age lore entirely—the Baldur’s Gate 2 Redux mod is a thing of beauty. The first dungeon, Irenicus's Dungeon, has been entirely recreated by a team of modders, including original audio and Baldur’s Gate 2’s famously snappy dialog.
I will admit I was not very optimistic in the first place when I saw all the console changes to DA2. But I did not expect the demo to be this bad. I played but 10 mins and I was immediately convinced that I don't want to play the whole game. And this is coming from someone who considers DA:O to be one of my favorite games of all time. Easily in the top 3 for me personally. And my decision not to buy the game? My biggest problem?

The camera for sure. God fucking awful. I was going to play this game all the way through even if it was consolized and stuff, bioware has always done a good job but. Did I miss an option to zoom in properly or something?
It just feels so bad. I was getting so frustrated just playing it I wanted it to work like DA:O's camera. Seriously though. Did I miss a button to zoom in? I can't see ahead of me. The overhead view is just so frustrating. I feel like I have no control.
Anyone else immensely frustrated with the way the camera works? Combat and everything else felt no better or worse from the little I tolerated. I still think DA:O was near perfect in that regard. I never thought combat was too slow.
And if it was just lower HP. But anyways I am more concerned with the camera. Yes the zoom is so insignificant it might as well not be there.
I don't mind that they have taken out the all the way out zoom like in DA:O, but the way it is in the demo it is actually detrimental to my gameplay experience since it's harder to see the battlefield properly and make decisions. Not that you need to on Normal difficulty. @christ0phe said: ' Oh great, another one of these ' @mazik765 said: ' Yay another over-reactive thread about DA2. How original. Have fun not playing the game if it's so bad.
I will be enjoying the hell out of it. 'Oh you guys, you are so original. @Tennmuerti said: ' Yes the zoom is so insignificant it might as well not be there.

'Annoying, isn't it? Now imagine if both of us, and several others, got together and made threads discussing our (not so) individually unique ideas. See: this thread and the several others exactly like it. Thats probably the reason.
I played DA:O on PC and had NO problems with the camera or combat. I enjoyed it. This demo proves that this game isn't for me. You can't see in front of you and you can't zoom out far enough to get a good view. Oh man am I disappointed:( It's a shame because if you want to hear some of my positive remarks about the demo, I actually liked the story and the look more then I thought and enjoyed having a character that could talk a little bit. And for those of you who say 'NOT ANOTHER ONE OF THESE'.
I think all these threads may mean something. The game is worse. @ryanwho said: ' @Enigma777: Once its out, the permission slip needed to comment on it will be 'play it for 10 hours'. Why do we have to wait to comment on something that won't change? We know how the camera's going to work. Its not going to turn into a locked camera like God of War. The badness of Mario 64's camera could be measured before entering the first world.
'Because more often than not, the sum of the whole experience is greater than it's parts. I'm not saying the complaints aren't valid, but I believe in Bioware and if they thought it would ultimately make the game stronger or serve their vision for it better, the least I could do is give them the benefit of the doubt and play the final version before I declare it the spawn of Satan. @Manatassi said:' Ok Im really not getting the camera complaint. I didn't notice anything wrong with it at all I played the 360 version and had no problems seeing ahead and moving the camera to where i wanted it. Either I played a different demo from you guys or you seem to have missed something n the camera controls I guess. Totally lost me on this one.
'PC version allows you to pull the camera back in an isometric view, much like Diablo or Baldur's Gate. @StarvingGamer said:' After starting to tear through the DLC modules for DA:O on the PC this week I realized that I, a devout Bioware fan and lover of tactical RPGs, have not been bothering to pull the camera overhead. I was able to issue orders to all my characters and manage positioning and accurately target my myriad AoE abilities with my mage no problem. I guess I won't be missing it in DA2. ' I hardly ever use tactical view. Sure, it makes it helpful in some big fights, but I prefer to be a bit closer to the action.
