  1. Fallout 4 Melee Combat Overhaul

When Fallout 4 launched I thought it was amazing. When I was 10 hours in or so, I started getting very disappointed by some design decisions, or straight up lack thereof. Features, systems and concepts that I felt needed to be in here were nowhere to be found. Even worse, some basic things that were present in Fallout 3 didn't even make it in here. Fallout 4: How to Melee Build and Wreck Everyone By jakob187 November 27, 2015 2 Comments. I've received a few different direct messages after my last blog about doing a melee build in Fallout 4, and I figured 'what the hell, I'll give everyone the secrets.' Now, I'm not going to say that this is an end-all be-all of melee builds, but it will.

This weapon deals 50% more damage to robots.General Chao’s Revenge has 40 base damage and 40 DPS and combined with medium attack speed, it’s quite devastating.Getting this weapon requires you to finish the side quest with Wolfgang, after which you can buy it for quite a price, from Trudy the merchant.5. With its medium AS it’s quite decent early-level melee weapon.Zao’s Sword can be obtained by completing Here There Be Monsters quest and convincing Zao three times.Read also:9.

Chinese Officer SwordAs we’ve mentioned, weaker version of Zao’s Sword is the Chinese Officer Sword. Even though it does allow fast attacks, it still doesn’t provide too much damage because of the low base damage and DPS.On top of lacking damage, it’s not that easy finding it so this sword is one of those that are not really worth going through the trouble for. ((Copy + Pasted this from the other ))Fallout: New Vegas added in new melee moves for weapons, and learn-able special attacks for the unarmed skill. However, it's plain to see that VATS still prefers guns over melee range attacks, even in that title. What I really want to see is the ability to aim your melee attacks like with guns. On top of this, there should be target-zone set-ups, or particular combinations for special melee attacks in VATS. Even generic boxing pugilism setups, like jab, jab, cross, liver punch (left hook/uppercut), haymaker, would be an enormous improvement. This may be a bit less.

Realistic, but ideally I'd be able to punt a dude's scrotum through his stomach, headbutt him, and then knee him in the face when he's on his knees/bent over. I just noticed the header over in, so this is also copied, pasted here and deleted from that thread.I feel like in the same way that you automatically unlocked the special melee skills without by reaching melee lvl 50, you should automatically unlock the ability to target individual body parts when you reach a certain melee/unarmed lvl.

At the starting 15 melee/unarmed you should really not know quite what you'er doing well enough to be nailing low kicks to the legs or knees to the head. I think it'd be cool to unlock it really early at 25 or so, but have very low accuracy for every thing but the head and body and have your accuracy for every thing increase both through natural leveling of the relevant skill and through perks the same way it is with guns. The end result being a system where you may target the legs while unarmed and you'll throw a low kick which like a gun shot, will damage the limb specifically, but with a perk you may cripple the limb and/or knock them down with a critical. Or a bladed melee weapon may unlock the ability to cripple an arm on critical.

Personally I think melee/unarmed stealth kills should be done via VATS, so I second the idea of disarms, contextual kills and counter attacks being done through VATS as well. I think the learned techniques from NV should return, but they should have new animations, there should be more techniques and there need to be ones for melee weapons. In fairness that wasn't in the thread I was referencing in particular, but thanks for including this. I agree with it, though I think it's almost too specific in some instances.

Good to see that other fans are as enthusiastic about good melee as I am.Stealth kills and perks for various types of melee weapons are an absolute must have. But yes, more so than that, large numbers of melee animations are required. Here's to hoping they're added in, if they're not in already!Just for reference, here's a link to my short-lived original post, also made today:.
