Fl Studio Keyboard Piano Not Working

The 12.5 update to Image Line's FL Studio DAW is upon us which includes a keyboard and pad matrix virtual MIDI controllers for touch-screen playing and performance - and lots more.

HI Sam,Thanks for posting! If you are worried the keyboard may not be working correctly, test the keys with a midi monitor:Windows:Open MIDI-OX with all other programs closed. In the OptionsMIDI Devices section, select your controller ports from the MIDI Input menu. Click OK.Now MIDI-OX will simply list all incoming MIDI messages. This will help confirm if the controller itself is responding properly.Mac:Open MIDI Monitor with all other programs closed. In the 'Sources' section, check the boxes for your controller's ports. Now MIDI Monitor will list all incoming MIDI Messages. This will help confirm if the controller itself is responding properly.Once you can confirm that board is working properly, you'll want to set it up the same way as any other midi keyboard in FL Studio.

There's tons of material out there to help you do this. Here are a few links you may find helpful:Hope this helps! Thank you, now works in FL Studio 12, but play, pause, record etc buttons on the left are doing the same sound as the keyboard (it is playing sound - higher pitch). Piano works without problems. What can I do to use buttons on the left for pausing, stoping, playing (+ 5 buttons in the corner).? If in MIDI settings my controller type is generic controller, it works like i have written now but when i change it for example to mackie control universal - these stop, play. Buttons work but piano keyboard buttons dont.

: Mon 22nd Sep 2014: 4 years agoHello,I'm using fruityloops 11 (demoversion) just to see if it fits me well and it does. Easy to use etc.Now my problem.I can't make melodies in the piano roll. I saw several tutorials on YT and see people dropping notes where ever they want to. What ever I try, it doesn't work. They appear at the beginning of each bar.

Studio

I can only move them up and down.Next is that I can't expand or shorten the notes either. I know you have to go to the end of the note and widen or shorten it by moving your mouse left or right. Are my settings okay or?It's pretty frustrating when your head is exploding with melodies, ideas etc.Any help is welcome. Thnx in advance.

: Mon 22nd Sep 2014: 4 years agoNot a problem! Glad I could help. What I like to do is set it to 'Line' to quantize the starts of the notes, then after I get the melody or beat in, I switch it back to 'none' to fine tune the release. When you're laying your patterns in the Playlist view, it's a good idea to have it set at 'line' as well. Otherwise you may not get them lined up right and you will definitely notice it in playback. Then you have to go look for it.But, that's just the way I do it. Take it or leave it.Take care.V.
