Inti Ilimani Dvdrip French
We attempted Illimani after a month of trekking and climbing in Bolivia - while we did not summit (conditions were tough and my conditioning was insufficient) we did make it to Nido de Condores and my partner got to about 5,800m on he mountain before turning back. The mountain is stunning.

Superior lore friendly hair sse. I am so happy we attempted this adventure and will be back to try again. Our guide, Eduardo Mamani Quispe, owner of Bolivian Mountain Guides, is excellent. He and his company are a definite 'highly recommend' for me. Prices are higher than the typical Calle Sagarnaga operators, but in exchange you get real guides, with expertise, skill and equipment. This stunning massif, is every bit impressive whether gazing out at if from La Paz or nestled into down-layers in a tent at high camp (the 'Condor's Nest'). This climb is very difficult and one needs to be in very good physical condition, well-acclimated, and experienced with glacier travel and climbing at high altitude.
If you are up for it, then go for it. I used a local guiding agency which I found very helpful in terms of guiding on the mountain, logistics in terms of getting out there and moving gear to/from camps, and for cooking, but this could easily be down unassisted (I was just being lazy!). Among other peaks in Cordillera Real we climbed Illimani without use of agency's or guides, but we went around couple of them for information and maps, and one of them (I want name him) tried to persuade us that Illimani is not safe if not using guides and ofcourse tried to offer us his guide, he even gave us internet address to look about guys supposedly being beaten and robbed on Illimani high camp, we later witnessed that he sells that story to almost everyone. I don't want to say that story isn't true, but our experience is completely different, we went there alone, camped for 3 day in base camp, and 2 days in high camp and didn't have any bad experience, everyone who we crossed where very nice and helpful, we didn't feel even tiny signs of aggression or dislike.

One of us even stayed absolutely alone for 2 days in base camp because of illness, and made some friends among local sheppard and porters. They where very respectful to us because we didn't use any porters or guides, we ofcourse treated them the same. All in all, if carrying everything (30+ kg.) by yourself, Illimani can be very exhausting on mind and body, but if experienced technically it is not demanding, it is beautiful, but in our opinion Pequenyo Alpamayo and Condoriri valley are much much better. If you can only do one of them, I would choose Pequenyo A. You cannot imagine La Paz without the Illimani, it would be like Paris without the Eiffel Tower. The Illimani -with its 6.462 meters of altitude- is called the 'sentinel of La Paz' because it has always been there, witnessing the speedy growth of the highest capital city in the world, at 3.600 meters. The sensation of having it so close has no equal.
Three decades ago you could see the three-peak mountain from almost any place in La Paz, now you have to go up to skyscrapers or stop on your way to the airport in El Alto, to have a better view. Ungraceful and unimaginative buildings that have blocked the views to the Illimani have invaded La Paz. However from the surroundings of El Alto or in your way back from Tiwanaku you can have stunning views of the Illimani at dusk or dawn.
